RELATED ACTIVITIES
The leadership and management of the Commission on European family Law (CEFL) is one of the core tasks of the UCERF. The CELF has, as its main objective the launching of a pioneering theoretical and practical exercise in relation to the harmonisation of family law in Europe. The major benefit to be expected by the establishment of this Commission is the creation of a set of Principles of European Family Law that are thought to
be most suitable for the harmonisation of family law within Europe. In 2004 Principles of European Family Law Regarding Divorce and Maintenance between Former Spouses were introduced, followed in 2007 by the Principles of European Family Law Regarding Parental Responsibilities and in 2012 the Principles of European Family Law Regarding Property Relations are expected.
